| Welcome to the Southern Peloponnes
The area is known locally as “The Mani” which nestles between the beautiful Taygetos Mountains to the east and the turquoise waters of the Messiniakos Gulf to the west which guarantees spectacular panoramic views.
As you travel through The Mani and our area you will find many traditional mountain villages with Mani tower houses and castles. All the churches in Mani are unspoilt by any occupation, with frescoes still intact.
There are ten signed walking paths that are very famous for the wild flowers and areas of extreme natural beauty. The views of the mountains and sea from everywhere are breathtaking.
The local people sell their fresh vegetables and fish, honey, organic produce and tea from the mountains.
Kalamata has its own airport and takes flights from England, Norway, Holland and Germany. Thomas Cook and Viking both fly from airports in England. Lilleput flies from Norway and Ross Holidays and Sudtours from Holland. Air Berlin fly in from Germany. There are internal flights from Athens and Thessaloniki. The airport is only open during the summer months.
